In this study, I've sought to create a home environment that is both inward looking, for shelter, and outward looking, to take in the long vistas of the North Coast of California. The living spaces encircle and open onto a sheltered courtyard. The same five-sided proportions are used to erect a pavilion for the living room. It opens both onto a broad patio, and expansive views up the rugged coast.
